Ivermectin — impurities and related standards

All 3 Ivermectin-related compounds in the CATO catalogue, listed with their CAS numbers, molecular formulae and stock status. If the compound you need is not listed, send the structure or the impurity designation and we will check whether it can be synthesised or isolated.

Ivermectin is a semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactone of the avermectin family, used in human medicine against onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis and other parasitic infections, and also widely in veterinary medicine. It is a mixture of two closely related homologues and is prepared by reduction of an avermectin precursor, so related-substance work must consider the homologue ratio, residual avermectin components, the corresponding oxidation and hydrolysis products, and other macrocyclic lactone congeners. The ivermectin standards on this page are the EP-designated impurities, each offered as an individual characterised lot together with the active substance itself, for identification, system suitability and quantitative related-substance testing in pharmaceutical analysis.
