Aflatoxin G1 is a difurocoumarin mycotoxin produced by Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus and one of the principal aflatoxins encountered in food and feed. Its formula is C17H12O7 and its molecular weight is 328.27, and the reference material is a beige powder. Because aflatoxins are potent hepatotoxic and carcinogenic contaminants, quantitative determination depends on an accurately characterised standard, and laboratories use it to prepare calibration series, to verify recovery from nut, grain and spice matrices and to confirm peak identity in LC-MS/MS or HPLC-fluorescence analysis. Working solutions are normally prepared in small quantities and handled under containment. Storage is listed at -20 C +/- 5 C, and consignments are shipped with ice packs. Pack sizes from 1 mg to 200 mg appear in the specification list. Quotation and documentation requests can be submitted through the form on this page.
