Diethylene Glycol-d8 is the perdeuterated isotopologue of diethylene glycol, a low-molecular-weight glycol used industrially as a solvent and humectant and controlled as a toxic contaminant in pharmaceutical excipients and consumer products. The eight deuterium atoms give it a mass shift that makes it suitable as an internal standard for gas chromatographic and LC-MS/MS determinations of diethylene glycol and related glycols in glycerin, propylene glycol and formulated products.
